About the Olympiad Awards...

  • Each participating school will receive an award plaque commemorating its participation in the 2007 Physics Olympiad.
  • There will be one winner in each Olympiad event.
  • Every member of the first, second, and third place teams of each Olympiad event will receive gold, silver, and bronze medals and certificates, respectively.
  • Olympiad Teams finishing in first, second, and third place in the overall competition will receive championship trophies commemorating their achievements.  To determine the final ranking of an Olympiad Team, the sum of all team medal points will be computed according to the point system below:
  • LAB FUNDS 2007 AWARDS: Olympiad Teams finishing in first, second, and third place in the overall competition will earn funds for their schools to purchase Physics Laboratory equipment and supplies.

First Place,         $1500

Second Place,   $1000

Third Place,          $500 

 

The Physics Olympiad Event
Point System:

Gold medal in an event =
500 Points.


Silver medal in an event =
300 Points.


Bronze medal in an event =
100 Points.
